The Divisions of Little League
The Little League program offers the opportunity for virtually every child to participate in an organized program. All children, boys and girls, between the ages of 5 and 18 are eligible to play. Little League offers locally chartered programs a reasonable degree of latitude in structuring their local program so as to provide the greatest access to the greatest number of children, regardless of their athletic ability.
Little League Baseball
Little League Baseball is for all youngsters between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age including Divisions of Tee-Ball (utilizing the batting tee rather than the pitched ball), for players ages five, six, and seven. Five and six year olds are eligible for Tee-Ball only and Minor League Baseball is for all youngsters age seven through twelve. Major League may include ages 9 through 12.Junior League Baseball
Junior League Baseball is a minor division of the Senior League charter and is available for individuals 13 and 14 years of age.Senior League Baseball
Senior League Baseball was created in 1961 and is designed for players 13 to 16 years of age.Big League Baseball
Big League Baseball program was initiated in 1968 to facilitate players 16 to 18 years of age.Little League Softball
Little League Softball was inaugurated in 1974 and, like Little League Baseball, includes a division for Tee-Ball as well as the 7 to 12 year old Minor League division.Junior League Softball
Junior League Softball is a minor division of the Senior League charter and is available for individuals 13 and 14 years of age.Senior League Softball
Senior League Softball began in 1974 for girls 13 to 15 years of age.Big League Softball
Big League Softball was inaugurated in 1980 for girls 16 to 18 years of age.Challenger Division
